Breaking News: Bus Ticket Prices Reduced Again! According to a recent statement from the Ministry, bus fares have been reduced once more. The minimum and maximum fare schedule applied to road passenger transportation has been revised.
The amendment to the communiqué titled “Communiqué on the Minimum and Maximum Fare Schedule to Be Applied in Road Passenger Transportation,” issued by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, has been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force. The updated communiqué revises the tariff set on May 14, 2020, taking into account operators’ costs affected by the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, maximum fares have been reduced on average between 25% and 30%.
New Reduction Announced for Bus Tickets
What are the new maximum fares for bus tickets? The fare schedule established on May 14 was adjusted considering operators’ costs during the coronavirus outbreak. Under the new arrangement, maximum fares have been lowered by approximately 25% to 30%. Fares will now be applied according to the distance traveled.
The revised maximum fares by travel distance start at 70 TL and go up to a maximum of 375 TL. The new tariff schedule is as follows.
- For trips of 101–115 kilometres: previous maximum 100 TL, reduced to 70 TL,
- For trips of 301–350 kilometres: previous maximum 150 TL, reduced to 110 TL,
- For trips of 626–700 kilometres: previous maximum 175 TL, reduced to 130 TL,
- For trips of 701–800 kilometres: previous maximum 200 TL, reduced to 150 TL,
- For trips of 901–1000 kilometres: previous maximum 250 TL, reduced to 185 TL,
- For trips of 2001 kilometres and above: previous maximum 500 TL, reduced to 375 TL.
