The Supreme Council of Higher Education Examinations (ÖSYM) has announced that nine exams have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. In a recent statement, ÖSYM said it updated the 2020 exam schedule to reflect measures intended to limit the spread of COVID-19. As part of these updates, nine exams have been moved to later dates. The postponed exams and their new dates are listed below.
Which Exams Did ÖSYM Postpone Because of the Coronavirus?
According to ÖSYM’s announcement, the postponement decision applies to a total of nine exams. The measures are intended to protect public health by reducing the risk of virus transmission. The exams delayed because of the coronavirus and their rescheduled dates are as follows:
- The 2020 National Defense University Military Student Candidate Selection Exam, originally scheduled for Sunday, March 29, 2020, has been postponed to May 3, 2020.
- The 2020 Religious Affairs Directorate Professional Knowledge Level Determination Exam, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2020, has been postponed to October 3, 2020.
- The 2020 Foreign Language Proficiency Level Determination Exam, originally scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2020, has been postponed to May 17, 2020.
- The 2020 Computer-Based Foreign Language Exam originally scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2020, has been postponed to May 2, 2020.
- The 2020 Computer-Based Foreign Language Exam originally scheduled for Sunday, April 19, 2020, has been postponed to May 16, 2020.
- The 2020 Disabled Public Personnel Selection Exam, originally scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2020, has been postponed to September 20, 2020.
- The 2020 Academic Staff and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES), originally scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2020, has been postponed to May 10, 2020.
- The 2020 Occupational Health and Safety General Directorate Workplace Physician and Occupational Safety Specialist Exam, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2020, has been postponed to August 29, 2020.
Additionally, the 2020 Academic Staff and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES), which was planned for Sunday, September 20, 2020, has been rescheduled to August 16, 2020.
