The payments of the 2000 TL holiday bonuses for retirees — when will they be made? According to recent announcements, the dates for the expected extra payment of 2000 TL for SSK, SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees have been declared. By the instruction of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, bonus payments that have been paid as 1,000 TL before each of the two religious holidays since 2018 have now had their payment schedule for 2020 clarified. After payments this year, roughly 13 million retirees across the country will have received holiday bonuses for the third consecutive year. Retirees Will Receive Promotional Payments First in 2020
Across Turkey, retirees will receive bank promotional payments before the holiday bonuses in 2020. Banks, in return for contracts to carry pension payments, will offer promotional amounts that can reach up to 2,500 TL. Promotional payments for retirees will be discussed between the Banks Association of Turkey and SGK during February, and the promotions are expected to be paid in March.
Who Will Receive the 2020 Holiday Bonus?
The holiday bonus has been paid to retirees four times to date, and in 2020 it is planned to be paid twice. Retirees will receive a total of 2,000 TL in extra payments (holiday bonuses) during 2020. The groups eligible for the 2020 holiday bonus include:
- Retirees covered by SSK, SGK and Bağ-Kur,
- Relatives of martyrs and veterans,
- Recipients of survivor pensions,
- Privates and non-commissioned officers receiving service and war disability pensions,
- Temporary village guards,
- Recipients of honorary pensions,
- Champion athletes,
- Veterans of Korea, Cyprus and the War of Independence,
- Civilians granted pensions due to damage from terrorism and the rightful heirs of deceased beneficiaries.
When Will the 2020 Holiday Bonus Payments Be Made?
The holiday bonus payment dates expected for 2020 are as follows:
- The first holiday bonus payment is expected between 18 and 22 May 2020,
- The second holiday bonus payment is expected between 27 and 30 July 2020. Exact dates will be announced by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services.
