When Will Vacant 2020 Hajj Slots Be Open for Registration?

The 2020 Hajj draw took place on January 9, 2020. Following the draw, approximately 84,000 applicants were selected to perform the pilgrimage. Final registrations for those selected were held between January 13 and January 24, 2020.

After the final registration period, some selected pilgrims were unable to complete their registrations due to advanced age, illness, or financial difficulties. These situations created vacant slots that will be offered to new applicants. For 2020, the total number of available vacant Hajj slots is 18,000.

When Will Registrations Open for the 2020 Vacant Hajj Slots?

Registrations to fill the 2020 vacant Hajj slots will begin on Thursday, January 30, 2020, starting in the morning. This registration opportunity is intended for people who were not drawn in the initial lottery or for new applicants who wish to take the places left open by those who could not register during the January 13–24 final registration period. Because some applicants who register for these vacant slots may later be unable to go, additional registration dates may be announced subsequently.

Those who missed out in the initial draw still have a chance to go on Hajj. Diyaeddin Şahin, a board member of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies and president of the Hajj, Umrah and Travel Agencies Association, expressed hope for all prospective pilgrims, saying, “I hope all members of our community who wish to perform Hajj will be able to reach the holy lands.”
