With Ramadan approaching, the Presidency announced financial support intended to help families facing hardship by providing Eid allowances. Applications will be submitted via the e-Government “Açık Kapı” (Open Door) system, aiming to alleviate at least some of the negative impact caused by rising food prices.
The Presidency stated it will provide interim support for financial difficulties arising from inflation across various categories. During the pandemic, a one-time cash grant of 1000 TL was provided as aid. Ongoing economic challenges have renewed attention on non-repayable cash assistance ahead of the Ramadan holiday.
Ministry Issues Statement About the Açık Kapı Support
The ministry released an official statement explaining that applications can be submitted through the e-Government platform. The Açık Kapı system allows help requests across 17 main categories and 322 specific services via an electronic form. The ministry also addressed circulating claims regarding an Açık Kapı Eid allowance application, saying those reports created a misleading impression.
Authorities announced on social media that reports suggesting Açık Kapı applications will automatically provide Eid allowances are unfounded. The ministry stated: “No social support payment for the holiday will be made through this channel. Do not trust these baseless reports.”
The General Directorate of Security also issued a written notice. Through the Cyber Crimes Department it warned: “Any claim that an Eid allowance application is available via e-Government is false. Citizens should be cautious about such posts.” The department urged the public not to trust unverified or unserious social media claims and to adopt a more informed approach.
Which Categories Can Requests Be Made Under?
Although rumors of a 500 TL Eid allowance for every household were denied by the Interior Ministry, several support packages for low-income families remain available. Requests can be submitted through the Açık Kapı system on e-Government or via its mobile application. If necessary, applicants can arrange an in-person meeting with Açık Kapı units to pursue assistance.
Applications submitted through the system are typically processed within about seven business days. Applicants can follow up on their requests using the application number via mobile phone or online.

How to Apply for the 500 TL Eid Allowance Support?
Claims that the Interior Ministry, General Directorate of Security, or cyber departments announced a 500 TL pre-Eid payment were denied. However, the Açık Kapı system can still be used to request various types of assistance across available categories.
When appropriate, applications are referred to the relevant service unit and generally concluded within a week. Application submission and tracking are handled through the system. Applications are submitted through the e-Government platform via Açık Kapı.
- Go to the www.turkiye.gov.tr website.
- Log in with your national ID number and password.
- Use the search box and enter “Açık Kapı Başvurusu” (Open Door Application), then select it.
- Choose the desired “service category” and submit the appropriate request.
- After providing detailed address information, select the Social Assistance Support option to request social aid through relevant municipalities or governorates.
These requests can be submitted regularly as needed. In addition to cash assistance, the scope of support includes food and clothing aid, orphan support, and care assistance for those over 65, among other services.
