The earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş that has grieved all of Turkey is leaving increasingly severe consequences each day. Its destructive impact was felt across ten provinces. Millions of people were directly affected, and both casualties and property losses continue to rise.
President Erdoğan, who inspected the disaster zone, reported on the latest developments. He said damage assessments are underway and that the government will provide certain financial support to affected families. The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has allocated a budget for these measures.
EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS TO RECEIVE 10,000 TL SUPPORT
Following the quake that caused widespread fatalities and destruction—especially in Kahramanmaraş—President Erdoğan conducted on-site evaluations. He also discussed next steps and said officials have been in contact with hotels in provinces such as Antalya, Alanya, and Mersin to arrange accommodations and support for those displaced.

As damage assessments proceed, the government will provide direct assistance to families affected by the earthquake. President Erdoğan announced that the Treasury and Finance Ministry has set aside funds for this purpose and that eligible families are planned to receive 10,000 TL each.
WHEN WILL THE EARTHQUAKE AID BE DISTRIBUTED?
The 10,000 TL support payment is intended for citizens in the heavily affected provinces: Kahramanmaraş, Adana, Hatay, Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep, Kilis, Osmaniye, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, and Malatya. A precise schedule for disbursing the payments has not yet been announced. Authorities at the Ministry of Treasury and Finance are finalizing procedures, after which payments will be distributed to eligible recipients.
Many people are still reported to be trapped under rubble from the February 6 earthquake. Intensive search and rescue efforts are ongoing, and reports about inaccessible areas continue to bring distress. State agencies, civil society organizations, and numerous volunteers remain active in relief operations across the affected regions.
