Established in 1970 with a capacity of 100 beds, this hospital was originally opened to serve both inmates and civilian patients. Since 1989 it has continued serving the general public, and by 1991 its capacity had grown to 150 beds. As patient numbers steadily increased, the hospital operated in a two-story building of 450 square meters. By 2003 the capacity reached 180 beds, and the hospital was able to perform around 30 surgeries per day and examine up to 350 outpatients daily.
