2,323 Disabled Public Servants to Be Appointed in February

Minister of Family and Social Services Derya Yanık spoke about civil servant appointments for the relevant positions to be made in February. She stated that, with the participation of President Erdoğan by the end of February, 2,323 disabled individuals will be placed in public sector positions as civil servants.

If the civil servant appointments expected to occur in February are completed, the number of disabled civil servants working in the public sector is expected to rise to 67,985. Citizens must meet the required conditions for the relevant positions in order to be appointed.

EKPSS FEES ARE COVERED

Minister Derya Yanık shared details about the new disabled civil servant appointments to be made in the public sector. She emphasized that the needs of disabled individuals continue to be addressed and noted that the Disabled Public Personnel Selection Examination (EKPSS) application for employment in the public sector began in 2012.

Minister Yanık stated that the ministry continues to cover EKPSS fees for disabled citizens and that for the 2022 EKPSS, 11,832,875 TL was transferred to ÖSYM to pay examination fees. She added that, following many new measures to support the participation of disabled individuals in social and working life, there has been a significant increase in the number of disabled personnel employed in the public sector.

WHEN WILL 2,323 DISABLED STAFF BE HIRED FOR THE PUBLIC SECTOR?

Minister Derya Yanık shared important details regarding the recruitment of disabled personnel to the public sector. She underlined that, as of November 30, 2022, public institutions had requested 2,323 positions for placements to be completed by the end of February. Candidates completed their preferences on January 13, 2023, according to the preference guide published by ÖSYM.

With these new appointments, the total number of disabled civil servants rises to 67,985. While the number of disabled individuals working in the public sector was 5,777 in 2002, appointments over the past 20 years increased that figure twelvefold to 65,662. As of February 2023, it is expected that 2,323 disabled personnel will be placed in public positions by the end of the month with President Erdoğan’s participation.
