Following the announcement, the personalized HES code service has officially become available.
The HES code, introduced as breaking news, can be acquired through the Hayat Eve Sığar app for use in travel authorizations. After yesterday’s meeting, Minister Koca confirmed that HES code usage for travel has begun. He noted that HES codes can be generated via the Hayat Eve Sığar application and that each HES code will be a unique, individual code rather than a fixed identifier like a national ID number. He also stated that a mobile HES code application will be available in the coming days. The system will work as an authorization check when boarding planes, and during this travel period people will be asked to show they do not pose a health risk.
How to Obtain a HES Code?
How to obtain a HES code? Citizens who need a HES code for travel can generate it through the Hayat Eve Sığar application. The app allows users to create a HES code and manage it—setting expiration, sharing the code, and deleting it are all under the user’s control. Users can generate as many HES codes as they need and can see which institutions they have shared each code with. They can also cancel codes or revoke permissions whenever they wish.
Another effective method to receive a HES code is by SMS. Citizens can send a text message to 2023 with the keyword “HES” followed by a space, then their Turkish ID number, the last four digits of their identity serial number, and the desired sharing duration in days. The HES code will be sent back by SMS. If no sharing duration is specified, the code will default to a one-year validity period.
HES Code Application Begins with Intercity Travel
The HES code application will be implemented first for intercity travel. Minister Fahrettin Koca stated that the system will begin with intercity transport and that HES codes can be created via the Hayat Eve Sığar mobile app or obtained via SMS. The HES code generated through the mobile app will be valid for air and train travel. Travel operators will be responsible for checking travelers’ health status and taking necessary precautions accordingly. If a traveler is found to have been infected, the authorities will trace and monitor any contacts made during the trip.
