THY Staffing Plans
Last year, Turkish Airlines reported hiring 2,577 employees through its pilot and cabin crew recruitment campaigns. Continuously expanding its workforce, THY stated plans to employ 150,000 staff by 2033. With a fleet of approximately 400 aircraft, the airline currently employs around 75,000 people and aims to increase its fleet to 435 aircraft and continue hiring through the end of 2023. Over the next decade, THY targets a fleet of 800 aircraft and a workforce of 150,000; the company is taking a step toward that goal by recruiting 10,000 employees in 2023.
Statement from the Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee
Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines, made the following remarks:
“As the national flag carrier, we aim to grow our family of 75,000 employees through these recruitment efforts. Over the past 20 years, Turkey’s economic progress has enabled us to expand our fleet from 66 to 414 aircraft and to increase our staff from 10,267 to 75,000—an approximately 7.5-fold rise. Together with our affiliates, we aim to raise our employee count to 85,000 in 2023 through new hires.”
“As the flag carrier flying to the most destinations worldwide, we continue to expand our fleet and workforce in line with our strong financial foundation and forward-looking goals. Contributing significantly to the national economy, our airline will continue efforts to become the world’s second-largest carrier.”

- No criminal record or criminal archive record.
