Details of the 45,000 TL Furniture and Home Repair Support
The Ministry of Family and Social Services accelerated social support payments to assist low-income citizens. With the ministry’s announcement, a new aid package was introduced to cover basic needs for those in need. For low-income households, there will be support for prefabricated homes, reinforced concrete homes, home repairs, and furniture assistance.
Beneficiaries may receive up to 200,000 TL for prefabricated homes and up to 100,000 TL for reinforced concrete homes. In addition, home repair assistance of up to 40,000 TL may be provided. With the separate 5,000 TL furniture assistance, eligible citizens can receive a total of up to 45,000 TL for home repair and furnishing. These grants are non-repayable and subject to a single eligibility condition.
What Is the Eligibility Requirement?
The Ministry of Family, Labour, and Social Services provides furniture assistance to support citizens in need. There is only one eligibility requirement: the per-person income must be less than one third of the minimum wage. Anyone meeting this income threshold can apply for furniture assistance.
If an applicant meets the income requirement and can document that the household’s furniture is in poor or unhealthy condition, payments will be issued promptly. This ensures that citizens can obtain the necessary items for a safe and healthy living environment.
How to Apply for Furniture Assistance
Applicants for furniture assistance should apply in person through Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations or at the Ministry of Family and Social Services offices or district governorships. Applicants must bring identification and income documents with them. Although information and required documents are listed on the ministry’s official website, only in-person applications are accepted. Therefore, online-only application claims should not be trusted.
When a social assistance application is submitted via the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations, officials assess whether the applicant meets the specified conditions. Based on this evaluation, it is determined whether the applicant is eligible for furniture assistance. If approved, the furniture assistance payment is made to help improve the household’s living standards.
