Bağ-Kur is one of the three institutions that provide social security services in our country. As a social state, the government works to meet the basic needs of its citizens. For this reason, the services offered to citizens in many countries are described under the term social security. In our country, social security services include health coverage, payment of hospital expenses, retirement rights and pension payments. Citizens must meet certain conditions to benefit from these services. When the conditions set for providing social security are met, everyone can access the services as needed. Three different institutions are responsible for delivering social security services in our country. These institutions provide services to citizens based on various criteria. As mentioned at the beginning of this article, Bağ-Kur is one of the three organizations administering social security services in the country. The other institutions are the Civil Servants’ Pension Fund (Emekli Sandığı) and the Social Insurance Institution (SSK). Each of these institutions serves a specific segment of the population. Social security benefits are generally determined by individuals’ employment status and are provided differently by each institution. Citizens who will benefit from the Civil Servants’ Pension Fund must be government employees. What Are Bağ-Kur Working Hours?
Bağ-Kur working hours are set according to the relevant ministry’s guidelines. In general, the working hours and practices of all government offices are the same. These hours are arranged by the Council of Ministers based on the provisions set out in articles 99 and 100 of Law No. 657 and the directives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. According to this regulation, Bağ-Kur offices operate like all other government offices, with working hours from 08:00 to 17:00. These institutions also observe a lunch break, which is held between 12:00 and 13:00. Therefore, citizens who have business at Bağ-Kur need to visit during weekday working hours. As with all government offices, Bağ-Kur is closed on weekends. Services are provided only five weekdays a week during the stated office hours.
