Breaking news: Restrictions will be applied for those under 15 and those 65 and over. According to the latest information, a new measure has been implemented in Gaziantep. Authorities have decided to impose temporary restrictions on citizens under 15 and those 65 and older. Health Minister Fahrettin Koca released the updated coronavirus figures for Friday, June 26, 2020. After the daily coronavirus report was announced, the governor of Gaziantep also announced limits for residents under 15 and over 65 across the city.
Gaziantep Governor Davut Gül stated that, as part of the measures against the novel coronavirus, the use of public transportation by people under 15 and those 65 and older will be restricted to specific hours: two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening. Governor Gül shared the decision on his social media account and noted that the measure was taken following the Provincial Pandemic Board meeting. He announced that, across the city, people under 15 and those 65 and older are temporarily restricted from using public transport outside the hours of 07:30–09:30 in the morning and 17:00–19:00 in the evening. Governor Gül also advised that activities such as condolence visits, hospital visits, and soldier send-offs should not be conducted face-to-face for the time being.
Health Minister Announces June 26, 2020 Coronavirus Data
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced the coronavirus figures for June 26, 2020. On that day, 1,396 new cases were detected nationwide. The number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus was 19. The total number of confirmed cases to date reached 194,511, while the total deaths stood at 5,065. To date, a total of 3,186,622 tests had been conducted. The number of patients in intensive care units was 963, and the number of patients on ventilators was 382.
The total number of patients who have recovered up to this date was 167,198. Minister Koca detailed the last 24 hours as follows: 1,396 new cases, 113 patients admitted to hospital on that day, 22 patients admitted to intensive care, and 13 additional patients put on ventilators. He also noted that the number of patients who recovered in the last 24 hours exceeded the number of newly confirmed cases. Minister Koca added that reports of precautionary measures were continuing to come from cities across the country.
