Breaking Announcement from the Ministry of National Education
The Ministry of National Education has issued an urgent announcement. Open education services, provided through open education schools affiliated with the Ministry, are intended for citizens who left compulsory education or could not continue their studies for various reasons. As part of the rapid and effective national response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Ministry ensured that students attending formal education in the 2019–2020 academic year could advance to the next grade or graduate based on their first term grades without suffering any loss of rights. The same opportunity will be extended to students registered in open education schools who had turned 18 by September 7, 2020, and met the conditions to participate in the 3rd term exams.
To address the difficulties faced by out-of-school-age students enrolled in open education during the pandemic, the Ministry decided to alleviate their grievance. In order to ensure timely registration for the new academic year and the safe start of face-to-face education, the 3rd term will be accepted as completed for open education schools without holding the usual exams. Under this arrangement, students’ 3rd term registrations will be renewed automatically, and they will be assigned up to the maximum number of courses permitted in a single term. Students will be considered successful in those automatically assigned courses. This provision is available to both domestic and international students registered in open education schools who meet the eligibility criteria to take the 3rd term exams.
