There are two types of vehicle insurance. The first is optional comprehensive insurance (kasko), which covers damage to your own vehicle. The other is the compulsory traffic liability insurance required to drive legally. Vehicles on the road can cause accidents that result in injuries or property damage. Compulsory traffic insurance covers part of the financial loss caused to a third party in such accidents. It does not cover damages to the insured vehicle itself; it only compensates the party that suffered loss.
If a vehicle is found driving without compulsory traffic insurance, administrative fines are imposed. The fine amount varies depending on how long the vehicle has been uninsured while in traffic. In addition to fines, the vehicle may be temporarily prohibited from driving. In this article, we explain how to calculate your traffic insurance so you can check your coverage and any outstanding payments.
How to Calculate Traffic Insurance
You can calculate your traffic insurance online for free. Follow the steps below in order to complete the calculation. First, click the link provided at the end of this article to open the insurance query page. On that page, choose the insurance company from the available options. The system offers five different methods to perform the insurance calculation.
For the first method, enter the agency number, policy number, and renewal number into the appropriate fields. If you select the second method, enter your vehicle’s license plate and the policy end year. The third method requires the engine number and the policy end year. The fourth method asks for the chassis (VIN) number and the policy end date. If you choose the last option, you must provide the SBM Tramer number. Make sure all required information for the selected method is entered completely and accurately.
If you think you entered something incorrectly, use the clear button located at the bottom right of the panel to reset the form and re-enter your details. After filling in the fields, click the query button to view your traffic insurance status and, if any payment is due, complete the payment.
