Children Under 18 Can Travel on Vacation with Their Family

Children aged 18 and under can go on vacation with their families. Efforts to manage the coronavirus pandemic continue, and as measures prove effective, restrictions are gradually being eased to reduce the risk of transmission while restoring normal life. One notable relaxation allows children under 18 to travel with their families for holidays.

As of June 1, 2020, the new rules permit individuals aged 18 and under to go on vacation with their families. Their temporary accommodation—whether a hotel or a summer house—will be treated as their place of residence for the duration of the stay, but the curfew for under-18s will remain in effect outside of designated exceptions. Previously, restrictions for young adults aged 18–20 were lifted as part of the normalization efforts. However, the special measures for the 0–18 age group will remain partly in place. Under the new implementation, children and teenagers aged 0–18 are allowed outside twice a week: on Wednesdays and Fridays between 14:00 and 20:00.

Under the New Normalization, Ages 0–18 Can Go Out Twice a Week

Under the new normalization rules, children and teenagers aged 0–18 may go outside twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays from 14:00 to 20:00, remaining within walking distance of their residence. They may travel with their families within the city and between cities. With parental accompaniment, they may travel to a holiday home or hotel; for these children, the hotel or summer property will be considered their residence during the stay. While at the hotel, children and young people may use all on-site facilities and may swim in the hotel pool or the sea if the facility provides access. Areas outside the hotel grounds remain subject to the curfew and other restrictions. On Wednesdays and Fridays between 14:00 and 20:00, they are permitted to be outdoors in walking-distance areas of the city. These rules also apply to children who travel with their families to summer houses or other holiday accommodations.

Children and adolescents aged 0–18, accompanied by their parents or legal guardians, may also undertake intra-city or inter-city travel outside the specified Wednesday and Friday hours. Following the lifting of travel restrictions on June 1, 2020, travel permissions began for the 15 provinces where movement had previously been limited. In provinces without travel bans, travel can commence immediately.
