Health Ministry Updates Coronavirus Precaution Measures

The Ministry of Health Has Updated Coronavirus Measures! According to breaking news, the Ministry of Health has revised the Epidemic Management and Working Guide. The updated guide includes new rules for beauty centers: staff must leave their mobile phones in the changing rooms before starting work and before any contact with customers. Customers and staff at barbershops, hair salons and beauty centers are advised to avoid speaking loudly and to limit conversation as much as possible. In line with the Ministry’s statement, the guide now includes a dedicated section listing the measures that beauty centers must take against coronavirus. Precautions for barbers, hairdressers, beauty salons, markets and supermarkets have been updated and are now in force.

Phones Must Be Left in the Changing Room!

Phones Must Be Left in the Changing Room! Under the revised decisions, beauty centers will accept clients by appointment to prevent crowding. Customers should not bring companions or children. Clients will be greeted without handshakes or any physical contact. Tools and instruments used for services will be assigned for individual use whenever possible. If personal-use items cannot be provided, tools must be cleaned and disinfected after each customer. There should be a 20-minute gap between clients to allow for cleaning, disinfection and preparation of the service area. Work clothes must be changed daily and textile uniforms should be washed at least at 60 degrees Celsius.

No one other than customers and staff will be allowed inside barbershops, hair salons or beauty centers. No visitors will be admitted. Because droplet transmission increases risk, both customers and staff should avoid speaking loudly and should keep normal-volume conversation to a minimum. Shampoo and cosmetic products offered for sale should be stored behind glass shelves or counter displays when possible. Hair dryers should be used as little as possible; when used, they should operate at the lowest effective speed and be positioned so as not to disturb neighboring clients or should be used in a separate area from other customers.

Glove Use by Staff Is Not Recommended!

Glove Use by Staff Is Not Recommended! In markets and supermarkets, a responsible person will be designated to share information about coronavirus precautions. Entry will be limited to one person per four square meters inside the store. Prepackaged products will be offered where possible to reduce handling. Except for personnel who work in meat, packaged food products and produce sections — where cross-contamination risk is higher — staff are not advised to wear gloves, since gloves can create a false sense of security and may increase contamination risk. If gloves are used, they must not touch non-food items or unrelated surfaces. Checkout conveyor belts should be wiped with a single-use cloth at least three times a day.
