Mobile Psychological Support Now Available for Healthcare Workers

Mobile Mental Health Support Now Available to Healthcare Workers! A new system has been launched to assist healthcare professionals. Developed by the Ministry of Health, the program — called the mobile “Mental Health Support System” — has been implemented to support the mental well-being of healthcare personnel who have been on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the global response to the coronavirus, the Ministry has introduced this mobile application to protect and bolster the mental health of healthcare workers. Designed to help staff cope with the exhausting and stressful conditions of the pandemic and to ensure they do not feel alone, the mobile Mental Health Support System is among the first of its kind worldwide.

All Healthcare Workers Can Benefit from the Mobile Mental Health Support System

The Mobile Mental Health Support System is available to all healthcare workers. The downloadable app connects users with volunteer adult and child/adolescent psychiatrists and is designed to provide reliable, professional care. Through an official, highly secure channel, the system offers video consultations and treatment options with mental health specialists. All healthcare personnel affiliated with public, private, and university institutions can access the service. Work is ongoing to extend access to pharmacists as well.

Priority access is given to those most in need. Healthcare workers who are in quarantine due to COVID-19, those who have tested positive, those with a family member in intensive care, staff actively working in wards and ICUs, those experiencing anxiety disorders, and any healthcare workers or their children requiring mental health support are prioritized for this service.

How the Mobile Mental Health Support System Works

The Mobile Mental Health Support System begins when healthcare personnel search for the app in mobile application stores. Users should search for the Mental Health Support System (RUHSAD) app. By downloading the official RUHSAD application provided by the Ministry of Health and following the in-app guidance, healthcare workers can gain access to the system.

After installing the app, users choose either “I want support for myself” or “I want support for my child,” and proceed with the option that matches their needs. Once a request is submitted, an operator contacts the healthcare worker to schedule a suitable appointment with a specialist. Consultations are conducted via secure video calls at the appointed time. If further care is needed, follow-up appointments can be arranged during the session.
