The Ministry of Family and Social Services continues to provide natural gas assistance to low-income households. The program, launched in February, is organized to provide support twice a year. Specific eligibility criteria must be met to apply.
Applications for natural gas assistance can be submitted online. The e-Government (e-Devlet) portal remains open for applicants. Applications may also be submitted to local Social Solidarity and Assistance institutions. Approved recipients can collect payments at PTT branches upon presenting their bill. Payments are made twice a year, taking three-month consumption periods into account.
How Much Is the Natural Gas Support?
Support payments for natural gas began in March. Minister Derya Yanık announced: “Payments for the natural gas consumption support for needy families start today.”
Continuing about the March disbursements, she explained: “The support payment will be evaluated according to a thermal map. A technical system will be used to allocate different amounts across regions. The two scheduled payments range from 450 TL up to 1,150 TL.”
Who Can Benefit from the Natural Gas Support?
Eligible applicants can apply from the 647 districts included in the system. The support is available to households with natural gas infrastructure and an active natural gas subscription.
The program covers both billed and prepaid meters. Applicants who receive approval after applying via e-Government can bring that month’s bill to a PTT branch to collect the payment. Assistance for prepaid meter users will be loaded onto their card.
When Will Natural Gas Support Be Paid?
The natural gas support is paid twice a year, in March and October. Applications are accepted through the e-Government portal. Those without an e-Government record can apply at the nearest Social Services Directorate.
Applicants who do not appear in the e-Government system can visit their local Social Services Directorate to submit their application in person.
Extra Payment for Those with Chronic Conditions
An additional payment is available for beneficiaries who submit a medical report demonstrating a chronic condition. Minister Derya Yanık confirmed that individuals with chronic illnesses who rely on electronic medical devices at home will receive extra support.
The minister stated: “A medical report confirming the condition must be uploaded during the application. An additional payment of five percent on top of the determined support amount is planned. This right will be granted to those with chronic conditions who depend on electronic devices to sustain vital functions at home.
Applications submitted electronically will be evaluated after a detailed review.”
To address hardship cases, the scope of the natural gas assistance has been expanded. Minister Yanık added: “If a person is unable to pay due to a disability or advanced age, a designated household member can present the bill and the beneficiary’s ID to facilitate payment collection.”
How to Apply for Natural Gas Support
The natural gas assistance announced by the Ministry of Family and Social Services aims to support low-income households. Applications to help household budgets with natural gas consumption are made through the e-Government portal.
Minister Derya Yanık explained: “All citizens who wish to benefit from natural gas support should access our Ministry’s Social Assistance Application Service screen on the e-Government system and complete the application form presented there.”
The application form is available on the e-Government system. It is important to enter accurate and complete information because the institution will conduct a detailed examination of the applicant and household. Ensure all declarations are truthful when completing the form.
To apply via e-Government:
- Visit the www.turkiye.gov.tr website.
- Log in with your national ID number and e-Government password and click “giriş yap” (sign in).
- In the search box type “Aile ve Sosyal Hizmetler Bakanlığı Sosyal Yardım Başvuru Hizmeti” to find the Ministry’s Social Assistance Application Service.
- On the resulting page, click “yeni başvuru” (new application).
- At the end of the page, check the box indicating you accept the terms. Tick “Kabul ve beyan ediyorum” (I accept and declare) and click “başvur” (apply).
- Verify name, national ID number, phone, and address, then click “devam et” (continue).
- On the next screen complete questions about personal income, earnings, property, and household members, then click “devam et” to submit the application.
- There is a question about medical conditions. Applicants with chronic illnesses can attach a medical report during the application.
