Social Economic Support (SED) Payments Begin Today Ahead of the Holiday! Social Economic Support payments will be deposited into accounts starting today. In a recent announcement, Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Services, shared encouraging news for students. Minister Selçuk stated that SED payments will be made today ahead of the Kurban Bayram holiday. She added that, under the Social and Economic Support Service, payments totaling 138 million TL will be transferred today for 131,000 children.
Social Support Payments to Be Made Before Kurban Bayram
Social support payments will be made before Kurban Bayram. Minister of Family, Labour and Social Services Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk explained that since Kurban Bayram this year falls between Friday, July 31, 2020 and Monday, August 3, 2020, SED disbursements are being carried out today. The provincial directorates have begun sending the August 2020 SED payments to beneficiaries’ accounts as of today.
Minister Selçuk noted that 131,000 students receiving SED assistance will receive a combined total of 138 million TL before the holiday. With these SED payments, the ministry supports children while keeping them with their families, preserving family unity and protecting the best interests of the children. Minister Selçuk expressed her hopes that the payments will be beneficial for all children and their families, and she extended her wishes for a blessed Kurban Bayram for children and their families.
