GSS Debt Amnesty: How to Qualify and Apply

Individuals not affiliated with any institution are covered under the General Health Insurance (GSS). The General Health Insurance system was created for people who are not connected to organizations such as SSK, BAĞ-KUR, or the Pension Fund. To benefit from GSS, you must apply for coverage. After applying, you need to take a GSS income test and pay premiums according to your financial situation. If the income test determines that a person is financially insufficient, their premiums will be paid by the state.

GSS Debt Relief

The proposed measures include provisions for GSS debt relief. This relief aims to provide certain conveniences to individuals within the General Health Insurance system. Under the GSS debt relief plan, people who have not yet taken the GSS income test will be granted a period of three to four months. During this period, they can complete the income test and pay premiums based on their reported income. If, after taking the income test, a person’s monthly income is found to be less than one-third of the minimum wage, the state will cover their premiums under the GSS debt relief provisions.
