Minister Bekir Pakdemirli Announced: 71 Projects Receive 71 Million TRY in Grants! In a recent announcement, Minister Bekir Pakdemirli confirmed that 71 projects will receive grant support totaling 71 million Turkish Lira. Within the IPARD-II framework, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will provide this grant funding to projects focused on agriculture and fisheries processing and marketing. In his written statement, Minister Pakdemirli emphasized the ministry’s continued commitment to supporting rural investments, local production, on-site processing, and sustainable rural development.

Details of Minister Pakdemirli’s Grant Support

The grant support described by Minister Pakdemirli aims to promote rural development, curb migration to cities, support women and young entrepreneurs, and boost employment. Under IPARD-II, payments will be made to qualified projects, with the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution providing grant rates ranging from 40% to 70% depending on the sector and measure. In his statement, Pakdemirli outlined the goals and scope of the support.

As part of the IPARD-II Program administered by the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution, the second group of results for projects deemed eligible under the 8th Call for Proposals published on November 25, 2019, has been finalized. Accordingly, 71 projects in the processing and marketing of agricultural and fishery products will receive a combined 71 million TRY in grant funding. With this grant support, the goal is to trigger about 183 million TRY in total rural investment. Minister Pakdemirli noted that, among the approved projects focused on physical asset investments in processing and marketing, 43 are related to milk processing facilities and milk collection centers, 3 to red meat processing and slaughterhouses, 4 to poultry meat processing and slaughterhouses, 1 to seafood processing, and 20 to fruit and vegetable processing and cold storage investments.
